Q for ball carriers: How many of you actually switch cams?

Q: How many of you actually switch cams in a real game?

The training videos I've seen suggest that it's easier to use forward cam so you don't flip back and forth, and that makes sense, but I wonder how many of you actually do that in a real game, vs. getting used to ball cam.

Do you switch every time? Just some of the time? How many of you use ball cam 100% of the time?

When I turn ball cam off:
- carrying the ball
- air drags off the ground (not for wall drags tho :P )
- very quickly while rotating back on defense/going for boost
- going for a demo
- toggling ball cam back on then off again to reset my camera while in the air

Some people turn it off briefly for aerial hits and backboard shots too, although I generally don't. It mostly depends on personal preference and what you feel comfortable doing.

Turning it off while dribbling helps soooo much. Otherwise your camera will be spinning around the ball nonstop and it gets to be disorienting lol

I turn it off for:

- Quick positional awareness (for boost) when rotating back.
- Dribbling/carrying the ball.
- Ball hits that require very good positional and rotational car placement.
- Demos

I consider ball cam a skill. Knowing when to turn it off and on in your advantage is really something you learn over the course of becoming better at the game.

^^ These guys nailed it.
I've recently been trying to play more with ball cam on because I feel more aware having an eye on the ball. There's times you definitely should turn off, but I used to depend on straight cam for wall shots and air drags from wall. I feel I've improved since breaking those habits.
Learning to carry with ball cam on kinda sucks but becoming comfortable can benefit in those catch-and-flick situations rather than a dribble. That's my own experience anyway.

You should get used to going on and off ball cam. Some hits require you to turn it off in a split second. Not to mention ball cam on dribbling is the worst.
