I was thinking of a paint ball arena w/ obstacle u know and the ball could be a paint ball and wen you score it pops and splaters paint instead of an explosion

also some new skins that are like paint splaters on the cars but difrent designs for each car

I quite fancy some sort of AA-guns on what could be a military themed map. (Anti-Aerial guns) (Blasting air at the cars)

That would be pretty cool, you could have some sort of thing where the ball changes to the colour of the team that last touched it, so it splats the ground/walls where it hits, and at the end of the match you look back at the arena to see what you have done to the once-clean arena. Whilst being snazzy, it could also show up certain areas where your team was being dominant, or being dominated, (eg if the halfway lines are completely blue then it could show you that the reds have been camping, or just being out-dribbled etc)

But there have been quite a few suggestions along these lines, and so I'm thinking, what other dynamic arenas could you think of? Other people have suggested the glass cracking where the ball hits it, and the water at the goals in wasteland having some sort of different affect on the ball.

Really cool idea NY, and Fen built on it brilliantly.

When you talk about dynamic arenas, do you mean realistically or just what I think would be cool, no matter how impossible for a PSN game?

If we're just talking coolness factor, how about a rocketship that's actually moving through space. The windows show stars going by at the speed of light and every now and then you pass a cool looking planet as well. Maybe even some alien cars could come and say hello :D If the ball hits a certain spot (a big red button on the map) the gravity is removed for 20 seconds and the cars and ball all fly around until gravity is restabilised, causing your cars and the ball to fall down to earth with a bump. You can control your cars with boost, which will be set to unlimited during the gravity-free time. The ball will continue at whatever direction it is hit :D

Obviously, a space ship would be very grey, so to make the map itself look interesting you'd have to have loads of cool extras. Perhaps a loose pipe that every now and then blurts steam out or an aquarium with insect battle cars that are being experimented on (like on the Simpsons with the ants, but with cute little Octames with antannae).

Awesome idea. I mean, none of those should be impossible to create right? The Octane-Farm might be going a little far in needless things taking up memory :P Not to say it wouldnt be awesome.

And yeah I meant ideas that are reasonable and not just wildly outlandish for the sake of it.
The way I see it, they would never build an arena that made the gameplay utterly different, like an arena completely covered in ice for example (That caused you to skid) . But if there was an arena that had a small section of ice..somewhere.. for some reason.. then I imagine they might think about it.

Also they're going to weigh in what makes the game fun. I thought of a ship rocking, galleon remake maybe. But how awkward would that be to score on, you would never be able to judge the bounce. But then what if the ship was pitching forwards and backwards (towards and away from the goals). What do people think? Because to a certain extent you could judge the bounce reasonably well that way.

Any other ideas for dymanic arenas? Keep them reasonable :)

This idea would be too much to be honest but would be great ot have! My idea is an undersea arena at the bottom of the ocean where fish and sharks swim around. And everytime the ball hits the glass at the sides of the map, it cracks depening on how powerful the ball hit it. And towards the end of the match the cracks start to get bigger until water leaks out and slowly fills up the arena and so you'd have to fly above the water or drive very slowly at the bottom of the pool of water where the ball is too.

Or how about a more reasonable idea where it's an arena in the sky in the clouds and birds are flying around too. The clouds would also move around and so occasionally you would see the sun, what would be really cool is it it was set at sunset and so near the end of the 5 minutes the clouds go away and you see a wonderful sunset. :D
