Community Help Requested - PSN Sign-out Bug

Hey Guys -

I've been working with Sony trying to reproduce and solve the PSN sign-out issues some of you report.

The most specific case seems to be that you guys say you get arbitrarily signed out of PSN with our title and not other games like CoD4 or Warhawk. We have trouble reproducing locally, except if I leave my kit on for extended periods I'll eventually be signed out with:
"ERROR 8002ad23"
and sometimes I'll have to restart my console to sign back into PSN.

What I need from you guys is either confirmation of that error code or, if you have the PSN sign-out issues, the error code you get when playing Battle-Cars and getting signed out of PSN (that doesn't happen to you regularly when playing another title). Also, if you have this issue, do you own UT3 for PS3 and does it happen to you with UT3?

Any info you can generate will be really helpful. We've heard that a future system software update might resolve these issues, but we have to narrow it down and verify it's the same problem to be sure it's that and not something we need to fix on our end.

It happened to me (again) friday night, off course one of the few times my side was winning.
I'll be sure to note the error code next time. It also happens with other games though (Pain and Bioshock come to mind).

I don't get sign-out of PSN playing sarpbc but on UT3 I always got disconnected (but stayed signed on PSN). It says I've been disconnected from PSN network but I haven't, has happened since I got UT3 a year ago and still isn't fixed.

Yeah! I dont have Super Battle Cars but i do have UT3 and i get this sign out erro all the time. Now i dont now if its that same specific error number, but i get signed out of it all the time in the middle of a game and it is annoying as all hell! So to answer your question, "YES!" yes i do have UT3 and yes this does happen to me alot! I hope that help youse to help Sony sort this out

That's what we were hoping to hear from people. I have some guesses as to what might cause it, but will require some careful testing.

I used to get that code I'm pretty sure. The problem turned out to be that my router wasn't powerful enough

Hey guys

I've never gotten that code that I remember, however I had some really weird problems on Saturday night

I was trying to play online, and I logged in, and got into a match... partway through I realized the "24" had been dropped off of my name, and I thought that was weird... but I disregarded it and kept playing... after the match was over, I tried to start another, but I couldn't find any servers in the server list... so I backed out and came back in, and it worked fine... but again partway through the next match it happened again... this basically happened all night, and I played for almost 2 hours... have you guys ever seen this before? my internet was fine cuz my fiancee was on her laptop the whole time and had no problems, plus I was obviously logged on or I wouldn't have been able to play

I have a theory about that code... For those of you who get that error, what NAT type is your ps3 set to? Is the "Connection to multimedia server" in the network options off?
I've also read that it might be an issue with the blutooth... try plugging in your controller if it starts happening to you frequently..

I know a way to fix the 8002AD23 error code problem.
Most likely you have your router connected to your modem, and a PC connected wired/wireless, and the ps3 connected wired/wireless.

1. First of all, you need to start your ps3 system. Go to your network settings and select information. Write down your IP, Subnet mask, Standard Gateway, and the primary DNS.

2. Start your PC and go to your networks settings. Right click your network adapter, click properties. Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click properties and type in manually the IP adress, Subnet mask, Standard gateway and DNS. (You can find that information on your PS3 as I told you)

Then you click "Advanced" and then you click "WINS" then "Activate NetBIOS over TCP/IP". Save your settings and connect the ps3 to your network (Doesn't matter if you do it wired or wirelessy).
