Founded in 2001, Psyonix is an independent game development studio based in San Diego, California. We specialize in Unreal Engine development both for our own titles and collaborative efforts with other studios. With the help of Epic Games, the company saw great success with the release of Unreal Tournament 2004 and the Onslaught game mode that Psyonix pioneered. In 2008, we released our first independent title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, on the Playstation Network. Psyonix has also contributed to other notable releases like Gears of War, Unreal Tournament III, and upcoming titles Homefront and Bulletstorm. In 2009, we released one of the first gameplay demonstrations for Epic’s Unreal Development Kit called Whizzle.
In addition to the development of our own titles, Psyonix provides outsourcing services to publishers and developers of the Unreal Engine. We are a full-service studio providing both code and content. We are licensed developers of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with experience in all aspects of game development using the Unreal Engine.
